When is the next Fortnite season? Chapter 6 Season 3 release date and UK launch time

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 releases on Friday 2nd May 2025.

According to the Epic Games server status website, this new content is planned to drop at 11am BST today for players in the UK.

That's the best estimate we have for a UK launch time, but these things can be hard to predict!

This coincides with the end of Chapter 6 Season 2, with a bit of downtime between the two to allow Epic to get the new season up and running.

Epic Games is usually pretty swift with its updates, and new seasons often launch after only an hour or two of downtime.

That being said, we've seen sporadic issues and delays in the past, so it isn't totally out of the question that the next season could take a few hours longer if something goes wrong.

What to expect from Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3

To nobody's surprise, Season 3 is set to be Star Wars-themed, with the season launching two days before Star Wars Day on 4th May.

This, of course, means that there's going to be a host of new Star Wars content, starting off with a new Star Wars live event that will take place across the entire season.

As for classic characters, you can't say better than Jar Jar Binks, who joins the game as his meme counterpart Darth Jar Jar.

We're also in for a world first in this season, with a new Star Wars TV show premiering its first two episodes in Fortnite before it goes to Disney+ a few days later!

It's not going to be a particularly long season, lasting only around a month, similar to the mini seasons that ran near the ends of Chapters 4 and 5.

The season will reportedly last a mere 35 days, making it the shortest non-OG season Fortnite has ever had.

While this might be disappointing for fans who were hoping for a bunch of new content, this might actually spell good news in the long-run.

A shorter season, especially one as short as this, perhaps suggests that Epic Games is cooking up something big, and that Chapter 6 Season 4 will be a huge season for the game.
